Kenneth Gilchrist
Campus Athletic Coordinator & Head Football Coach
Coach Kenneth Gilchrist serves as Richland High School’s first Campus Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach, having been selected in December 2024 to help build the Richland Raiders athletic and football programs from the ground up. He brought more than 15 years of coaching experience and an extensive background in Texas high school football to Richland. A former offensive lineman, Gilchrist played high school football at Cameron Yoe before continuing his career at Cisco Junior College and Louisiana Tech. In 1996, he was recognized as Louisiana Tech’s James Wayne Smith Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman after a season in which he did not allow a sack in 456 pass attempts. Gilchrist began his coaching career in 1998 and has coached at programs including Joshua, Hempstead, Cameron Yoe, Lake Travis, Duncanville, Whitney, Caldwell, and Frisco Heritage. He was part of Lake Travis’ first state championship team in 2007 and was named District 9-3A Coach of the Year in 2014. Before coming to Richland, he spent seven seasons as the head coach at Frisco Heritage, including a playoff appearance in 2022. At Richland, Coach Gilchrist has helped establish the culture and foundation of a new athletic program while leading Raider Football through its inaugural season and into its first year of UIL district competition. His leadership extends beyond football as he works with coaches and student-athletes throughout Richland Athletics. In 2026, he also represents Region 3 on the Texas High School Coaches Association Football Advisory Committee.
